We’ll Miss You, Nicole!
Nicole Davidson has amazing spirit and enthusiasm. She constantly introduces herself to people and makes new friends, and she is never afraid to state her opinion, a quality of any good Forum Editor. However, Nicole is much more than just a Forum Section Editor. She is very involved in our school: with band, Proscenium Circus, The Spectrum, sports, Audio/Visual, or with simply making friends.
Nicole is a friend to nearly everyone. “It is hard to imagine the paper without her comments, stories, and most of all her hugs, much less a Nicole-less Band Camp,” says Jackie Surdan, The Spectrum’s incoming Editor-in-Chief. Whether it is her enthusiastic writing for The Spectrum, or her enthusiasm in leading the band as President, Nicole energetically brings something new to the table. It takes a person of great leadership to take on both of these positions, and she will be greatly missed. Nicole’s willingness to make new friends and put herself out there is a rare quality. She is always friendly and willing to cooperate. Ms. Hammond, The Spectrum advisor, says, “Nicole Davidson is a force of nature. She is opinionated, strong-willed, wildly enthusiastic about so many things, […] and has a great big heart.”
Nicole also works with the AV crew for Proscenium Circus. While students watch the amazng fall plays, the winter musicals, or the spring shows, not many of them think about all of the work that goes on behind the scenes. The AV Crew has a huge role in any PC production, setting up sound, lighting, set equipment, and many other things that people often overlook, to make the show run smoothly. Nicole is one of many members of the AV Crew, and her contributions are great.
I first met Nicole in my sophomore year when we played on the same Community Ed. basketball team. I did not know who she was at first, but the minute she introduced herself to me, I could tell she was very friendly and energetic. Without Nicole, that basketball season just would not have been the same. Even after taking one for the team and breaking her ankle, she still came to cheer us on with an enthusiasm unmatched by any other spectator.
After writing for The Spectrum throughout high school and serving as Forum Editor during her junior and senior years, Nicole’s work is widely known and will be greatly missed. “I always looked forward to reading her articles…It’s an understatement to say I’ll miss her,” says Surdan. “We will all miss Nicole,” adds Ms. Hammond, “with her fierce dedication.” Her work reflects her personality – energetic, fun, filled with new ideas, and unafraid of voicing her opinion. Nicole is a girl involved in everything: band, theater, writing, sports. I speak for everyone when I say, “We’ll miss you Nicole!”
